Child support in Virginia is determined by the Virginia Code and is based on the gross income of the Parties.  Other factors include child health insurance payments and work required daycare expenses.

Spousal Support issues are more complex.  The Virginia Code deals with the factors a Court must take into consideration in arriving upon a figure, if at all, but does not address a specific calculation.  Some Circuit Courts have adopted calculations, but their continued use is questionable given recent changes in the Federal Tax Code.
